Calendar sync that puts your meetings next to your work
The Brainitive calendar shows your issue due dates, list tasks and bookings next to the events in your own Google, Outlook or iCloud calendars. Let people book a free time with you through a booking page, and schedule Google Meet or Teams calls right from the issue or doc they're about.
Calendar sync
Calendar sync brings your Google, Outlook / Microsoft 365, iCloud and other CalDAV calendars into Brainitive, so your meetings, due dates and tasks share one calendar and you can reschedule them in place.
- Connect Google Calendar (with Google Tasks), Outlook / Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud or any CalDAV server such as Fastmail or Nextcloud. All of these can be edited from Brainitive.
- Add any calendar as a read-only ICS link. Brainitive refreshes it about every 15 minutes.
- Switch between month, week and day views, and filter by source, connected calendar, project, assigned to me and completed work.
- Drag an issue, task or event to another day or time, or drag its edge to change the start or end. Changes are saved in the original calendar.
- Connected calendars are personal: only you see them. Disconnecting removes the events from Brainitive, never from the provider.
Booking pages
Booking pages give you a public link where people outside Brainitive pick a free time with you, without an account and without back-and-forth emails. Free times are your working hours minus what is already in your calendars.
- Create as many pages as you need, each with its own meeting types, length, weekly hours, date overrides and questions. Eight templates include sales call, consulting, job interview and office hours.
- Rules cover start-time steps, buffers before and after, minimum notice, how many days ahead and maximum bookings a day.
- Each booking can go into a Google or Outlook calendar with a fresh Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link, or use phone, in person or your own online link.
- Guests see times in their own time zone, get a confirmation email with a calendar file and a reminder, and can reschedule or cancel. Only free times ever leave Brainitive.
- Bookings on any of your pages block each other, so you're never booked twice. You can also embed a page on your website or create a board card for every booking.
Calendar feed
The calendar feed is a private link that shows your Brainitive due dates, list tasks, My Day plan and focus sessions in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook or any app that subscribes to a calendar by URL.
- Choose what's included: issues assigned to you, issues you created, list tasks, My Day and focus sessions, with or without completed work and descriptions.
- Limit the feed to some projects. It only shows what you can open in Brainitive and covers the last 60 days and the next year.
- Use Open in Apple Calendar, Add to Google Calendar or Add to Outlook, or copy the link.
- If the link leaks, reset it or turn the feed off. Calendar apps refresh on their own schedule, from 15 minutes to several hours.
Meetings: Google Meet & Teams
Schedule a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams meeting from an issue, a doc or the calendar. Brainitive creates it in your own calendar, sends the invitations from there and keeps the meeting linked to the work.
- Pick the date, start, duration (15 to 90 minutes, or custom from 5 minutes to 12 hours), time zone, calendar, attendees from the project and guests by email.
- Meetings show on the issue or doc with a Join button, and the issue history notes that a meeting was scheduled.
- Create meeting notes in one click: a linked doc that opens from the issue, and whose action items you can turn into issues after review.
- Remove a meeting by only unlinking it, or cancel the event so the attendees get a cancellation.
- Google Meet needs a connected Google Calendar. Teams needs a connected work or school Microsoft 365 account. You need edit rights on the issue.
Frequently asked questions
Which calendars can I connect to Brainitive?
You can connect Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Apple iCloud and any CalDAV server, such as Fastmail, Nextcloud, Zoho, Synology or Radicale. These can be edited from Brainitive. Any other calendar can be added as a read-only ICS link.
Can I see my Brainitive tasks in Google Calendar or Outlook?
Yes. Create a private calendar feed under Calendar, then Subscribe, and add it to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. It can include your issues, list tasks, My Day and focus sessions. Calendar apps refresh it on their own schedule, so changes can take a few hours to show.
Do people need an account to book a meeting with me?
No. Guests open your booking page, pick a meeting type, a day and a free time, and enter their name and email. They get a confirmation email with a link to reschedule or cancel. Only your free times are shown, never what is in your calendar.
Can booking pages add a Google Meet or Teams link?
Yes. Choose Google Meet or Microsoft Teams as the location of a meeting type, and pick a matching Google or Outlook calendar for the bookings. Brainitive then creates a fresh call link for every booking and invites the guest from that calendar.
Can my teammates see my connected calendars?
No. Connected calendars are personal, so only you see their events in Brainitive. Your teammates see the shared work in your projects, such as issue due dates and list tasks.
Are calendar sync and booking pages in the free plan?
Yes. Every feature is in every plan, including Free, which allows up to 3 members and 5 projects per workspace. Brainitive is open source and can be self-hosted. On your own server, an administrator sets up the Google and Microsoft connections.
